The Los Angeles gondola project is a heavily debated topic right now. People are in between continuing with the process of making it or just stopping it as a whole. METRO’s chief architect, David Grandis, is in charge of building the gondola. However, none of this would be possible without funding. Frank McCourt, former owner of the Dodgers and the parking lot at Dodger Stadium, is willing to fund this project. He would be giving METRO $500 million, which means that this project would be a free city project. The gondola’s purpose is to transport people from Union Station to Dodgers Stadium in less time than it would take in a car. Although they are prepared financially and building-wise, they still need to get this project approved. The approval process is not short; it would take around 6–8½ years. The review process would take this long since first, they would need to scope and after that they can prepare the various studies. Next, they would draft the environmental document reviews and public hearings, after that they have to select project alternatives. Finally, they would be able to do the final environmental document review.
