This might not be big news, but it's current! Ed Sheeran performed with The Offspring on Sunday May 26th at BottleRock Festival in Napa, California. He performed the song "Million Miles Away" with them and the crowd went wild. In an Instagram post, he said that their 2000 album "Conspiracy of One" was the very first album he ever got. He also says " I used to pretend to be in their band in the mirror and sing along to the album when I was 9, mostly to their song Million Miles Away as it was the first song of theirs I heard." This was mentioned in an interview and Noodles along with Dexter, the guitarist and lead singer of The Offspring respectively, reached out to Ed after finding out they were playing at the same festival to ask if he wanted to join them for the song. Ed, of course, said yes. They got on stage for the song last Sunday and it meant a lot to Ed. At the end of the post, he puts, "Really felt like living out a childhood dream thank you for having me up there guys. Music is a wild ride, every day I'm so grateful to be living my dream in reality."
Off-topic, but I'll say it regardless. I didn't know they were even in Napa! The ironic thing was that I was in San Jose that weekend. I was around 1 hr 27 mins away, but still! This morning I saw the video from The Offspring's YouTube channel of the performance. Let's just say...I need to listen to do a "Conspiracy of One" run-through. Wish me luck!
