Italian Teen is set to be the Catholic Church’s first millennial saint

Carlo Acutis was born may 3, 1991 in London. Carlo was an Italian teenager who had a fascination for computer programming and video games and earned the nickname “God’s influencer“ and was determined to become the Catholic Churches first millennial saint. Because of his clear determination and devotion to become the first millennial saint, Pope Francis recognized a second miracle attributed to Acutis, who died from leukemia in 2006 at age 15. Throughout his life he spread the awareness of the Catholic church through his skills in tech. Although his parents were not religious, he was still able to learn about Catholic culture through his Polish nanny. When he died, his body was moved to the Italian town of Assisi, where it is now displayed in a shrine, alongside other relics linked to him. He was beatified and declared as "blessed" after his first miracle in 2020, when he healed a Brazilian boy who had a birth defect. His story is seen as helpful for the Catholic Church as it seeks to better connect with many generations in a digital age.
