Mirroring the original Blast Off!, Kaito was seen inside a classroom along with Monokuma, the latter of whom was dressed like an astronaut. Monokuma then pressed a button that triggered an iron maiden-like rocket behind Kaito. Right before it could take off to space, it suddenly turned upside down and went underground instead with Kaito severely coughing in the process.

The rocket eventually passed through the earth and reached space. Right after Kaito saw the stars, he smiled in satisfaction, as he was able to travel to space (as it was his dream to). Then, he coughed a heavy amount of blood, which splattered on the window. He then succumbed to his death due to his implanted chronic disease, causing the execution to fail. An "Error" message appeared on the rocket before it finally fell and crashed into the classroom in which the survivors were.

K1-B0 immediately protected his friends from the falling rocket, causing his ahoge to fall. The rocket opened, revealing Kaito's dead body. The failure of the execution made Monokuma incredibly upset, as Kaito proved that he was able to die on his own terms.
