TJay was born Tione Merrit on April 30, 2001, in the Bronx, New York. He has 2 younger siblings. TJay grew up in the 183rd and Fordham Road neighborhood of the Bronx. He's spent a bit of time in a youth detention center between 2016 and 2017 for robbery.
