What is going on?

The governor of Illinios has confirmed the first infant to die in the U.S from to the virus. Dr. Ngozi Ezike states, "Never before been a death associated with COVID-19 in and infant." However, An infant in China has died from the virus. There has also been two other children under the age of one that have been infected.

Why is this event/issue newsworthy?

This is important because it could mean the virus is now able to infect children. The virus attacks your respiratory sytem and causes your immune system to go haywire. This might be why children are now able to be infected.
