What is going on?

Governor of Illinois has reported the first infant death caused by the Coronavirus in the U.S. The first child to die from the virus was and infant in China. A 2-month old child has also been infected in Tennessee. Another child under the age of 1 has also been infected in Florida.

Why is this issue/event newsworthy?

This is important because it means children can now catch the virus and die from it. The virus attacks the respiratory system and immune system which might be way children can catch the virus.
