What is Cinco de Mayo about? Well you'll have to read this in order to find out.

  Cinco de Mayo is based on a battle between the mexicans and the french. It is NOT Mexican Independence day, which is September 16. Mexico had borrowed money from England, Spain, and France to help with their debts for farming. They were stalling repayments; the Spain and English negotiated with Mexico and decided to forgive them. France, on the other hand got frustrated, so they decided to send 8,000 soldiers to battle Mexico’s 4,500 soldiers. Luckily, Mexico had won the battle and France backed off. 2 years later after Mexico’s victory, the French came back for revenge, and this time, they had won (booo!👎☹️). So for about 5 years, we were ruled by Maximilian of Habsburg! Juarez’s forces had executed Maximilian after the french had called off their forces (after 5 years T_T )to prepare for another battle?!

Cinco de Mayo myths:

Cinco de mayo is rarely celebrated in Mexico! What !!, and the only reason It's a big celebration in America is because Mexicans delayed the French invasion and the French arrived to the continent of America in a crucial year (1862) of the civil war, and undoubtedly turned the tide in favor of the Confederate Army.
