everyone has a dark side but how you get out of it is the real challenge. not having happiness in life is sad. not knowing how to get happiness or how to be happy is the worst part. a tree is something living, something that can produce. a tree and a human have more things in common then we think. 

this little girl runs out of her house and she is looking for something to do. she is 5 years old and she needs a distraction. she needs someone or something to pay attention to her. she is running around in her backyard and she hears this soft voice saying, hey little one. she gets scared, she yells out who's there?! she is trying to follow the voice and then she turns to her big apple tree and she asks the tree, was it you who called me? the tree responds well yes it was. she gets spooked and says, you can talk? the tree asks the little girl, what is your name little one. the girl responds by saying, i don't know what my name is. the tree is confused and said little one you don't have a name?  the little girl says no and then sits next to the tree. the tree then tells her a little story. the tree says little girl i was planted here about sixty-seven years ago and there used to be many amazing things under here. i am an old tree and we usually live until we are eighty years old so little one i don't think that i have many years to live. the little girl says what? i just met you and now you are telling me that i don't have much time with you. no one has time for me.  then the tree says, little one we will have plenty of times together. i want to talk to you every day and make sure that you are okay little one. i am going to be here for you. whenever you need someone just come outside and talk and i will be here to listen{A}. the little girl is growing and growing but now she is getting sad every day. she runs to her backyard and tells the tree, why do my parents not love me? the tree says, little one they do love you but they don't know how to show you their love to you. little one i care about you and i want to be here for you.  the little girl is now 10 years old and she is now realizing that her parents are no longer in love with each other. she is trying to figure out her emotions but she doesn't know how to. the tree senses the little girl there and tells her little one, i am here for you whenever you need someone to talk to just come outside{D}. the little girl starts crying and tells the tree, no one loves me. the tree responds by saying little one i do. the tree says little one don’t wait for someone to bring you flowers. plant your own garden and decorate your own soul. do not let other people and other people's actions define who you are. the little girl is no longer a little girl. she is now fourteen years old and she is discovering relationships and her own emotions and feeling. the girl goes to the tree and says, i have friends and i have a boyfriend but i still feel alone. the tree says little one the sun is alone too, but still shines. a couple of weeks later the girl comes to the tree looking sad and the tree says little one don’t force someone to make time for you, if they really want to, they will. the girl asked the tree, how did you know that what i wanted to talk about? the tree says, a tree knows. the girl is now fifteen years old and the tree is seventy-seven years old. they have been family for ten years and the tree is realizing that he doesn't have a lot of time to spend with his little one. he promises to himself that he will do everything in his tree power to do good by this girl and to leave her ready for the world for the rest of his time here on earth. the girl is trying to find out who she is but she is letting other people decide for her. she is depressed everyday and she is in a dark place. every day at school she is faking a smile and the tree knows what’s going on but he doesn't know how to help her. she is seventeen years old and she doesn't know who she is and she is sad and she doesn't want to live anymore. the tree right away says no little one gets that out of your head. little one sit down I want to tell you something. i have been alive for 79 years and most apple trees don't live to be this age. every rainy and stormy day that comes along helps me grow. use every rainy and stormy day to grow. be thankful for your struggles because those struggles will help you become unbreakable. little one i don't grow without water. those rainy days fuel me and i get to keep growing and reproducing apples. without the storm, we don't get rainbows little one. little one let every negative thing fuel you to grow and become a better you{A}.the girl looked up to the sky and said, tree without you i wouldn't be trying to strive to be the best me. The tree then says little one just keeps pushing forward, never give up on who you want to be. the girl then says, tree i still don't know who i am. the tree tells her, little one remember when i said that when i was planted here there were many things under. well, i was planted on something very special. when my time is up here on earth this thing will be what defines who you are for the rest of your life. after this talk with the tree the girl felt better and motivated but things didn't change overnight. little by little she was getting better but she still didn't know who she was. she kept letting other people define who she was. she kept letting the wrong people in and she just wanted someone there to talk to. the girl is now eighteen and she is growing little by little with each rainy storm that has come her way. the tree is now 80 years old and the end is near. the tree calls the girl and asks her what her name is? she replied by saying i don't know yet. the tree told her my little one my time here on earth is coming to an end. don't ever forget our talks. i never knew what my purpose was in life until you came into my life. little one don't be sad, be happy we had an amazing journey and i wouldn't change any of it for the world. little one here is the last apple that i produced. i want you to know that i love you and i know that you don't trust anyone but i really do love you and i care about you a lot. i want you to keep moving forward no matter what and never let anyone define who you are and always stay positive and happy. those were the last words that the tree told the girl. the girl was sad but happy at the same time because she now knows that she was always loved. she was always loved by the tree. she never asked the tree what his name was but he left clues throughout the journey{M}. the next day the tree was cut down and she remembered that the tree told her that there was something under him that would define her for the rest of her life. she dug and she dug until she found something. she found a crystal. right there and then she knew what defines her and what her name was. her name was under the tree the whole time. a crystal is a precious stone and can never be broken. Crystal learned a lot from that tree and because of that tree, she found true happiness and true love. she adventured the world and she lived with a positive mindset every day. Crystal kept her happy place everywhere she went and every day of her life. she married and she settled into the old house that she lived in until she was eighteen years old. the day she found the crystal she planted the seeds of the last apple that the tree gave her. twenty years later she found true happiness and true love and now she has a daughter. Crystal and her daughter were playing in the backyard and her husband calls her in to help her fix dinner and she goes in and her daughter is running around and she sits next to the tree and all of a sudden she hears, hey little one.
