On March 25, 1931, a train stopped exactly where a mob was waiting. When the police got there they arrested nine black teens for supposedly getting in a fight with a group of white men. A little later two white women accused the nine black teens of assaulting them. The black teens that were aged 13 to 19 were held and trialed in Alabama's justice system. There they'll be found guilty of fighting the group of white men and assaulting the two white women. They kept getting trialed and each time they got the death penalty. Once they got sentenced it caught the whole world's attention and International Labor Defense (ILD) even stepped in to help them. In the end, the International Labor Defense team was only able to free five out of the nine black teens.
