2d Animation

Animation is the process of transforming still images into moving images. Images in traditional animation are hand drawn or painted on transparent celluloid sheets before being captured and presented on film. Several animations today use computer-generated images.

2D animation is the art of producing movement in a two-dimensional space. This comprises people, animals, special effects, and backgrounds.

When various drawings are sequenced together over time, the illusion of movement is achieved. One second of time is often divided into 24 frames. Depending on the animation technique, there might be as many as 24 unique drawings in one second of animation (24fps) or as few as two. Traditionally, animation is done on "2s," which means that there is a drawing every 2 frames (12fps). This helps artists to save production time and expenses while also giving 2D animation a distinct style.

While this is frequently referred to as traditional animation, mainstream 2D production has advanced from hand drawn procedures employing pencil and paper to the application of computer graphics.
