Dia de los Muertos, which in English is translated to Day of the Dead, is a holiday celebrated all throughout Mexico. The meaning of the holiday is to celebrate our loved ones who have passed away. People would celebrate by putting up ofrendas (making alters) to honor/ remember their lost loved ones. They would usually decorate these alters with items/food/drinks that their lost loved one liked. People like to dress up like skeletons and dance/sing for their lost loved ones. The holiday last 2 days, November 1-2. I celebrate this holiday and I really enjoy celebrating it.
