My December (Side Stories #2)

I don't really have one for this to go along with, so we''l say this is for all the articles I made in December. Make of it what you will. Read all of them first, and come back here. This better be all so clear, or I'll give it all away.

This was "My December", this was my time of the year, and was it an eventful month. The month started with an stressful, but fun day at school, and led to the weekend. Me and my family went to San Diego for the weekend and I had a blast finding shells, having strawberry tortillas, sitting in front of a fire pit, and dipping my own candle in Old Town. It does look really bad, but I'm pretty proud of it. On the Sunday I came back, my tia threw me a Wish themed party, and I loved seeing the banner filled with Star on every letter. The 4th was my birthday, but I didn't really want to bring that attention to me. Comet day, 7 classes, I can't at this point. The only people who wished me happy birthday were my program director for a group I'm in, my English teacher who's classes are really relaxing, and my Religion teacher who's made me feel at home at high school. Fast foward to Friday, we had Mass and Praise Night. Mass was for the Immaculate Conception, and Praise Night was, well, PRAISE NIGHT. It was this day that I realized me and my religion teacher had a lot in common, and we even discussed it as I was in line for the free food. It was the first time I opened up to someone in 4 years, and it felt so good. On Virgen de Guadalupe Day (December 12th), my school held the first ever Santa's Workshop, where kids grades TK-3rd from my old school came to have fun and unwrap presents we got them. A lot of teachers noticed the way I interacted with the girl I was supervising, and were very proud of it. The biggest example was the "Put The Nose on Rudolph" game run by my Religion teacher. I was helping her by saying where to go so she would win, and she put a dot right in the middle of the blank area. She was having so much fun and she was very happy with the present we got her: an American Girl backpack with some make up and a Monster High doll. She told us that her mom won't let her keep the Monster High doll, but she'll donate it somewhere so it can go to someone who needs it more. I never felt so proud in that moment than any other that day. The other kids in our group were ecstatic with what they got and even opened their toys to play with them. Some kids came up to me to hug me and say they remember me from last year, which shocked me they remembered. I was expecting the "oh I know you!", but not "NADYA I MISSED YOU!". When I had to help with clean up, I brought in 3 big tables all by myself.

December 13th might've been Taylor Swift's birthday for everyone, but for me it was Tom DeLonge's birthday and some bad news. One of the teachers had his Nintendo Switch stolen in a home break-in. I offered to help locate it, but he said it probably wouldn't work out. The 14th was a holiday party for my program and they brought in some dogs to help us destress before finals. The dogs were Siberian Huskies, which reminded me of my friend's dog Finn. He's leaving puppy status as of now, but he's really small and cute. Seeing these giant dogs scared me of what Finn might grow into. Finals happened and I did well on them, but especially Religion with a 49/45. I wasn't expecting that, but it was a welcome grade. My break wasn't all that eventful, but Christmas Eve I spent with family and we even called the North Pole so my cousins knew where Santa was now. Christmas Eve was also when I got hives, but that didn't stop me from enjoying Christmas. I got the tickets to the Ben & Cody concert and helped my family with the lottery scratchers they got in cards. We then went to San Jose and you can read that in "My Winter Break". We ended the year with sleeping in the new year. FUN TIMES!
