Frida Kahlo is famous she suffered from polio when she was a child and nearly died when she was a teenage girl, she also suffered from multiple fractured spine collarbone ribs, a shattered pelvis, a broken foot, and a dislocated foot. She began to focus heavily on painting while recovering in a body cast and ever since she had 30 operations on her, even though she was in the body cast she found a way to be able to paint her self-portraits.
I find it fascinating how Alvaro Obregon was not only a soldier and statesman but also a reformer. As a president, he restored order to Mexico after a decade of political upheavals and civil war that followed the revolution of Laid. What impresses me the most is that he learned about the needs and desires of the poor Mexicans from his work as a farmer and laborer. It's inspiring to know that he led a group of volunteers with the help of President Francisco Madero.
