Yesterday, a guest speaker from UCLA came to talk to us during 3rd period. Her name is Katheryn and she is an ambassador and student for UCLA. UCLA is the #1 public university in the nation, out of hundreds of thousands of universities in the nation. They provide over 125 majors and 90 minors that you can take while you're attending UCLA. The school and classes are very dispersed and not as clustered as you may think, 2/3 classes have less than 30 students and there is an 18;1 student/faculty ratio on campus and in most classes. The education system is in quarters and goes by 10 week brackets, meaning that a quarter is 10 weeks long until the end of the school year. There are 115 abroad programs in over 40 possible countries.
