Yesterday we had a guest speaker come to our class and she began to tell us about the different options that UCLA offers and she began to tell us about scholarships, clubs, programs, and that they are currently ranked as #1 public university. In her presentation she mentioned that the main thing that they focus on is your academics and your admissions essays are read by professors and by people to get to understand you as a person on a more personal level, they mainly look for roles of leadership no matter which way, shape, or form and they also have your admissions essay read by at least two people. They do school on a quarter system which results in them having school for a total of 10 weeks per quarter. She mentioned that they have an amazing studying abroad program that you can visit overseas but they are also located all around the U.S.
