Sandra Cisneros is a writer, novelist, poet, and teacher with a beautiful background story. She wrote one of the books that I used to read growing up The house on mango street. She grew up in Chicago but she moved around growing up because her dad had nostalgia. Sandra had 6 brothers and was the only girl which was one of her struggles growing up. Her brothers didn't like to hang out with her because they found it embarrassing. When she went to college her dad thought it was a good idea because she can get a husband. She didn't find a husband because of college but she did write a book and get a couple of awards. When she read her book to her dad he was happy and wanted more for the relatives
